ABOUT COPPER

Copper has long been considered a magical material. Water did not deteriorate in copper dishes, pendants were protected from diseases, copper nickels were applied to a bruised place.

COPPER – the metal of Venus, which gives strength to soft gold, has the magical ability to clarify the feelings of man. A lack of copper in the body leads to anemia. Copper increases the body’s ability to resist infection, and the water, settled in copper dishes, acquires the ability to kill microbes. There is evidence that during the cholera and plague epidemics, as a rule, people who worked with copper and those who wore various copper objects on their bodies did not get sick: crosses, jewelry, hoops. Copper is a metal of peace, peace and art. It belongs to the planet of love Venus and is a conductor of its energies, therefore it extinguishes conflicts, quarrels and discord in the house. All this just convinces of the need to have copper products in the house. Let it be commonplace pots or other utensils.

Copper utensils replaced clay pans long ago. Copper, like bronze and iron, and in contrast to tin, tolerates high temperatures and does not cause any harm to it, it served primarily as cookware on an open fire, and then on the stove. Copper boilers, pans and pans could be well cleaned and rubbed to a shine thanks to a strong and resistant surface; the reddish, restrained gleaming copper dishes stood out well on the bleached walls and were, and still are, the pride of the hostess. Inside, the copper cookware was coated with a layer of metal to prevent the adverse effects of copper oxidation products on the human body and eliminate some of the aftertaste that certain foods left in direct contact with copper left. In copper utensils without such a coating (tinning) can only be cooked avoiding boiling.

Copper is the best conductor of heat. Professional chefs and culinary experts appreciate her for the speed of reaction. In a copper dish, everything is cooked quickly and evenly, as it evenly surrounds the food with heat. The main advantage of copper utensils is that it allows you to cook on low to moderate heat.

Uncoated copper utensils are ideal for whipping egg whites, which become thicker in contact with copper. Many desserts are prepared only in copper utensils, since sweets do not oxidize the copper surface, and the thermal conductivity of copper allows you to quickly cook the most capricious dishes. For example, egg cream with sugar and wine (a delicious Italian dessert) will not work in any other dish – only in copper.

In addition to utensils, there are many beautiful copper household items. The Salon of Amazing Things has one of the largest collections of copper utensils and decorative and applied art objects of Western Europe made of copper in Ukraine.
